Early Access / FAQ

Why Early Access?

Originally named as 'Proyecto Razas' it began vocationally for being free and collaborative with the tool RPG Maker 2003, however the lack of awareness from public due to the secrecy in development, and such limited involvement of staff's members, it led us to stand-by state in development. One year ago, the last remnants from staff members made a firm decision for bringing to life the game as an indie one. Because of this, we evaluated as fundamental the player's feedback, as well as experts with tool limitations about RPG Maker 2003, we want to know your views, what do you like and what not, what do you expect about it and many more things, being you part of development.

We know, as unknown indie developers in the presence of public, and with such old tool were the game it is made of, it was inviable to achieve a crowdfunding campaign to help us in the huge development that 'Razas' world requires by other means. Since we don't want to disappoint our potential players, we offer an early access in a token price that let us to self-finance at the same time that you can already play the first chapter: players will decide the destiny of this game, either with a Wing of Fénix or finally to a game over.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

The estimated time of arrival for add all features that we consider convenient to reach gold state for chapter 1 is around 3 to 6 months. However, this is subject to changes depending on player's feedback, bugs or improvements discovered at early access, since they will polished or implemented, thus we won't leave early access if we need to fix extras by player's request despite of our launch release. We promise to not leave early access if players still have to test and share feedback to fully shape the game, we want the most bug-free and polished release.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Full version will get the last part of chapter 1 that aren't available on early access yet. It will implement these features too:
  • Merge system integrated into menu from scratch again.
  • Shop system for equipment items.
  • More settings for playability: help messages, game settings, etc.
  • Parley system for battles.
  • Maestría system for customising combat style.
  • Implementation of 'summon' option inside game's menu along with link system (skills outside battle).
On top of that, we will polish skills/magic management code in menus, optimise battle system, adjust difficulty according to feedback, new faceset artwork with moods and many more little things.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

The current state is enough to the midpoint of chapter 1 with its own contents available, in other words there are a bit more than 2 hours long. Taking decisions could change the results meaning different changes to story, therefore an element of replayability and experience changes in each play it is there.

The majority of systems to play the game made from scratch with RPG Maker 2003 have been introduced: battle system by eventing (SBS3D), main menu with near all choices, shop system for items, characters on party that follow the leader, enemies on map with IA, skills/magics availables for chapter 1, a summon, a charisma system, minigames, animated scenes...

The current state is very advanced and we consider it an alpha phase. We wish to make that last step walking along with players for reaching chapter 1 at gold stage.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Yes, we want to reward those players that support us in our early access with a lower price regarding release price launch, because their monetary effort and personal experience will help us a lot to shape and grow the full game, so it deserves an immediately reward that we can offer right now.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

We want to hear your possible contributions: from bugs or errors, helping us to improve the international translation that we take care of by our own due to lack of resources to pay a professional one (and the difficults to handle localisations in the current engine), listen your advices about playability and evaluate what of them we could implement due to engine limitations because of itself, keeping a strong communication with players in the most directly way possible with community game and social networks, even consider ideas for NPC according to characteristics shared by players.

Our most important agreement with community for game's development is to offer the first chapter of 'Razas' with the best polished state that we can accomplish together, with the goal to reinvest your monetary and moral effort in the own full game.
